David Gossett

2022 Inductee

David Gossett played his prep golf in Memphis and won two high school state championships.  He earned the 1997 AJGA Player of the Year award and at one point was the top-ranked junior golfer in the country.  He went on to star at the University of Texas, where he was a two-time All-American while winning the 1999 Big 12 Championship and being named the Big 12 Student of the Year.  That same summer he won the 1999 U.S. Amateur Championship at Pebble Beach. In September of that year, he competed for the United States in the Walker Cup.  He was the low amateur of the 2000 Masters Tournament.  Gossett received a sponsor’s exemption into the 2002 John Deere Classic and went on to win the event for his first PGA Tour victory.  Gossett and his wife Jenny reside in Brentwood with their four children.
