Ann Furrow

Ann Baker Furrow of Maryville won the TGA State Women’s Amateur Championship five times, beginning in 1961. That same year she won the Women’s Western Junior Amateur. The biggest victory of her career was the 1978 Women’s Southern Amateur. Ann Baker was given a golf scholarship by the University of Tennessee. She did not compete on the men’s team, but did play each year in the Women’s National Intercollegiate, the forerunner to the present NCAA Championships. Many years after graduation, Ann Furrow was instrumental in establishing one of college golf’s best women’s programs at Tennessee.
